Our page on Dr. Rehab Zakaria speaks to one clinic. This article is broader: how to assess any clinic before you walk into it, using criteria you can verify yourself — and apply them to us too.
If you’ve searched for the best dermatologist in New Cairo, you’ve probably found dozens of results, all claiming to be exactly that.
The problem is that “best” isn’t a criterion. It’s an opinion. And what you actually need isn’t an opinion — you need a way to assess.
So rather than telling you to choose me, I’ll tell you how to choose. Then apply these criteria to any clinic, mine included.
The short answer
Choosing the right dermatologist in New Cairo comes down to nine verifiable criteria: specialty, academic qualification, experience with injectables specifically, product transparency, quality of pre-procedure consultation, documented cases, willingness to refuse an unsuitable procedure, a plan for complications, and follow-up after the session. Any clinic that passes the first seven and fails the eighth and ninth is not a safe place for an aesthetic procedure.
The nine criteria in detail
1. Specialty — not just any doctor
Injectables are a medical procedure, not a beauty service. Product is placed near blood vessels and nerves, and misjudging depth or placement can cause genuine complications.
What to look for: a licensed specialist in dermatology or plastic surgery. What to avoid: any injection session performed by someone who isn’t a doctor.
2. Documented academic qualification
Certificates aren’t decoration. A Master’s and Doctorate in the specialty mean years of structured study and research, not a short course.
Ask what the qualification is, from which university, and in exactly which specialty.
3. Experience with injectables specifically
This is a subtle point that’s often missed: a doctor with fifteen years treating skin disease doesn’t necessarily have the same experience with aesthetic injecting. They’re different skills.
Ask: how long have you been doing this procedure? And roughly how many cases?
4. Product transparency
This is the fastest way to assess any clinic. Ask:
- What is the product name and manufacturer?
- Exactly how many millilitres or units will you inject?
- Will the packaging be opened in front of me?
A clinic that won’t answer all three — leave. There is no legitimate reason to refuse.
5. Quality of the consultation
A good consultation takes time, and asks more than it sells.
Signs of a good consultation: questions about your medical history, medications and allergies. An actual examination of your skin. An explanation of alternatives rather than one option. Frank discussion of side effects and risks. Clarity on the full cost of the plan.
Signs of a poor one: a price quoted in the first two minutes. Pressure to book today. “Last day” offers. No mention of risk at all.
6. Documented before-and-after cases
Not just attractive photos — genuine images with consistent lighting and angles, labelled with the number of sessions and the time elapsed.
Ask to see them. And look for cases resembling yours, not just their single best result.
7. Willingness to say no
This is the most important criterion on the list, and the least talked about.
A doctor who agrees to every request isn’t providing a service — they’re selling. A good doctor will tell you: “this won’t give you what you’re after,” or “your skin isn’t ready right now,” or “wait a few months.”
If you’ve never heard “no” in a clinic, that isn’t a good sign.
8. A plan for complications
Complications are rare, but possible. The difference between a safe clinic and an unsafe one isn’t that complications never happen — it’s preparedness.
Ask directly: if a complication occurs, what’s the plan? And for filler: do you keep hyaluronidase on site?
A clinic injecting filler without dissolving enzyme available is an unjustified risk.
9. Follow-up after the procedure
Is there a review appointment? Is it included in the price? Is there a way to reach someone if a problem arises two days later?
The procedure doesn’t end when you walk out of the clinic.

Frequently asked questions
Does it have to be a female doctor?
That’s a legitimate personal preference, and many patients feel more comfortable. But it isn’t a measure of quality in itself — the nine criteria above are.
Is the clinic nearest me the better choice?
Proximity is genuinely convenient, particularly since injectables need follow-up and sometimes repeat sessions. But don’t choose on distance alone.
Are Google reviews a reliable measure?
Useful as a general indicator, but not sufficient. Read the negative reviews specifically, and see how the clinic responded to them.
Should I visit more than one clinic?
For a significant or expensive procedure, a second consultation is a very good idea and nothing to be embarrassed about.
The bottom line
There is no objective answer to “who is the best dermatologist in New Cairo.” But there is an objective answer to “how do I know this clinic is safe and competent” — and that’s the nine criteria above.
Apply them to any practice you’re considering. The clinic that clears all nine comfortably is the one that has earned your trust and your skin.
